Establishment of 13 Self-Help Groups in 5 Municipalities of Kosovo

During the month of February, within the framework of the project β€œPromotion and Realization of the Rights of Roma in Kosovo and Albania,”Nevo Konceptiestablished 13 self-help groups in five municipalities of Kosovo: PrishtinΓ«, Prizren, PejΓ«, MitrovicΓ«, and GjakovΓ«.

These groups aim to build sustainable structures for the empowerment of women from the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities by providing safe spaces for mutual support, experience sharing, and self-organization, with the goal of improving their health, well-being, and social inclusion.

In addition to establishing the groups, activities for economic empowerment through handicrafts were also implemented, aiming to contribute to the financial sustainability of these groups. This project is implemented by a consortium of partners: Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS), Nevo Koncepti (NVK), and DrejtΓ«si Sociale (DS), in partnership with Karl KΓΌbel Stiftung (KKS), and with financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society.
